The 1023 Magazine is Open to Submissions from All High School Writers (Years 9-13)

The 1023 Magazine is a student-run journal that will publish an issue every other term, with the first issue available to the public in Term 2. You can sbmit your work at any point to be considered for the next edition. The best time to submit is when you believe your work is polished and ready. The editorial team will review all entries and respond within three weeks after the submission deadline.

To be considered for the issue published within the first half of the year, submit by the deadline: Week 1, Friday of Term 2.

To be considered for the issue published within the second half of the year, submit by the deadline: Week 1, Friday of Term 3.

      -  Poetry: You can submit up to 4 poems.
      -  Prose: You can submit up to 2 pieces, each with a word count up to 500 words. 
This can include short stories, creative non-fiction, personal essays, or any other creative writing you wish to share.

To submit, please email your work to with "Submission for The 1023" in the subject line. In the email body, include your full name, year level, tutor class, and a short bio (no more than three sentences).

Please attach your work as a single Google Doc or PDF file, using your name for the file name. Do not paste your writing directly into the email body.
