This issue features work from eight student writers, ranging from flash fiction to poetry. Each voice differs in tone, style, and subject, yet all subtly reflect the theme of new beginnings.

As young people, we’re told the world is in our hands—but what does that really mean? This collection explores how new beginnings aren't always wrapped in flowers and laughter. Sometimes, they start with rediscovering a lost identity or peeling back layers to find who we are beneath the masks we wear. From mangled bows at the ankles, to the quiet realisation that a smile can carry pain, to the deeper meaning behind a childhood game—these pieces capture the raw, in-between moments of becoming. We are growing up, and with growth comes emotion—messy, tender, strange, and real.

We hope you enjoy this issue as much as we did, and perhaps even find the courage to begin a new chapter in your own life.
